Hello and welcome to just answer, my name is ***** ***** master tech here to help. I cannot see or hear your vehicle so I rely on your input to my questions so I can help you better. I read your concern and question. This will be hard because he will have limited things he can do in a snow storm but I will give you a few things to try in that situation. Hope this has been tuned up recently ,(new plugs) put a good quality injector cleaner and water eliminator in the fuel tank one of each, Spray all ignition parts and wires with pure silicone spray with engine not running, this will dissipate any moisture and water proof it. Lucas products are good.
