My 2013 Chevy Tahoe has started making a squealing sound

Customer Question

My 2013 Chevy Tahoe has started making a squealing sound when it is in reverse and it must override the backup sensors because they no longer beep.
JA: Where exactly do you think the noise is coming from? And how long has this been going on?
Customer: It just started yesterday and it is not coming from the motor. My Tahoe is a 4x4.
JA: Are you fixing your Tahoe yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No, I do not fix it myself. If this is the signal of a serious problem, I will take it to the dealership. My Tahoe has 27,000 miles on it.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No, I cannot think of anything.

hi there. I am Cam.
With the noise, do you need to be moving to hear the noise?
Are there any warning lights on in the dash?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I need to be moving in reverse and there are no warning lights or messages.

Ok, this does not sound like an electrical issue on the surface. It sounds like you might have 2 issues. It is most common to have a rock in the brakes that causes noise only in reverse.

As for the sensors in the rear, do you not get the lights on either? If you have it running and in reverse, and someone walks behind, it does not make noise?

I am on my way to the Chevy dealership since I will be driving from Dallas to Denver on Friday. Thanks

Ok, Again my bet is a rock in the brakes then for the sensors, possibly a wiring issue at the sensor in the bumper.
Please let me know what you find.
