I have a four door 2007 Silverado. Why would all four door

Customer Question

I have a four door 2007 Silverado. Why would all four door speakers stop at once. The dash speakers work. I called a chevy dealer and he said I need four new speakers. Does this sound legit?
JA: How long has this been going on?
Customer: It just stopped working yesterday. All at once.
JA: Are you fixing your Silverado yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No. I am having it done at a stereo shop.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No

So the dealer says all of the door speakers went out at once?

Believe it or not it's that uncommon. I'm not sure how or why it happens, but we see these trucks in fairly often with bad speakers. You can test them with a 9 volt batter. You will have to either pull the radio and rest at the rear radio connector or pull the door panels and test at each individual speaker.

I noticed you said you plan to take it to the stereo shop to have them check it out. Do you need info on replacing the speakers yourself?
