Service traction control and check engine lights coming on.

Customer Question

Service traction control and check engine lights coming on. Hard shifting when this happens.
JA: Does the light stay on, or does it blink?
Customer: Stays on
JA: What is the model/year of your Chevy?
Customer: 2007 hhr
JA: Are you fixing your HHR yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: The first time it happened I had the wheel bearing replaced and oil changed just after and the problem resolved itself. It's been this way a few days and no mechanic I've went to is familiar with the problem. I'm afraid to drive it in fear that I'm making the problem worse.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: That's all

Have you had the vehicle scanned for trouble codes yet? Most parts stores will do this for free?

It sounds like you have a misfire or a fuel delivery problem, but a quick scan of the computer will get us pointed in the right direction to nail down the actual cause.
