Hello, my name is***** you tell me which gauge is low causing the light to come on?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
my coolant temp at about 208 and oil pressure is about 40psi. RPM about 22-2500 uphill only. No check engine lamps comes on.
Customer: replied 9 months ago.
FYI new fuel pressure pump/high pressure relief valve/injectors. In a matter of fact engine was replaced back in 2008.

Thanks. So the check gauges light is coming on but all of the gauges still read fine.

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
thats correct
Customer: replied 9 months ago.
but it does shut down it registered as a low oil pressure count on the Engine shutdown parameter using tech 2
Expert:  BOBBYSS replied 9 months ago.

If it registered low oil pressure then I would test the oil pressure sensor or replace it. Does the oil pressure on the gauge match what the TECH II reads?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Expert:  BOBBYSS replied 9 months ago.

Thank you. If it registered low oil pressure and turned on the light then you may have a bad oil pressure sensor or an issue with the hydraulic system. I would start by making sure that the oil is fresh and that the oil filter is good. I have had oil filter clog internally and cause this. I have also seen poor connections on the negative battery cable cause this also.

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
did replace oil and filter, same result. I havent replace the oil pressure sensor yet. did try look for it but couldnt find it.
At one time test driving it notice ignition voltage drops to 12.6V. and back up to 13.1V. Does this cause the check gauge lamp to comes on only at high RPM.
Expert:  BOBBYSS replied 9 months ago.

If the voltage in the system is low enough then this will occur. This can occur if there is a bad connection at one of the battery cables or more commonly a bad ignition switch.

basiclly just change the oil pressure sensor first, but where is the location
Expert:  BOBBYSS replied 9 months ago.

It is located on the driver side of the engine block.

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
is that the sender for oil pressure to the gauge or its the same
Expert:  BOBBYSS replied 9 months ago.

The oil pressure sensor on this engine sends it information to the computer who sends it to the gauge.

did replace sensor and check battery terminals. same result dies out uphill.
