I'm getting a P2101 and P1517 on my 06 chevy trailblazer.

I'm getting a P2101 and P1517 on my 06 chevy trailblazer. The engine starts in the low power mode.
JA: Will the headlights turn on? Is the battery fully charged?
Customer: Battery fully charged headlights come on
JA: Are you fixing your Trailblazer yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: What I could find was errors related to the TPS and the correlation between the TPS and the pedal sensor not matching
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I have tried a second, known good throttle body with TPS in it.

if you clear the codes which one sets back first ?

do you have a good multi meter on hand ?

I have a multimeter and yes cleared codes. The O2 2nd bank sensor trips first
The engine stumbles at idle but smooth's out at ~2500rpm
If I hold the throttle plate at about 14% (slightly backwards from accelerate the engine smooth's out then also
I have cleaned the throttle body and vacuum port. Throttle plate operates smoothly
I believe the O2 and then the MAF codes set first due to the low power mode.
I have tested the wiring harness at the throttle body to ensure there were no broken wires.

you said P2101 ans P1517 both are throttle body codes that are set

P1682 and P2101
The truck will not idle at this time

The Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) System uses an ignition voltage supply separate from the powertrain control module (PCM) supply. If the PCM detects a voltage difference between the 2 circuits, this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) will set.

This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC P1682 Ignition 1 Switch Circuit 2


  • The ignition is ON.
  • DTC P1682 runs continuously when the above conditions are met.


  • The ignition 1 voltage is less than 10 volts .
  • The above condition is present for more than 1.6 seconds .


  • The control module stores the DTC information into memory when the diagnostic runs and fails.
  • The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will not illuminate.
  • The control module records the operating conditions at the time the diagnostic fails. The control module stores this information in the Failure Records.
  • The driver information center, if equipped, may display a message.

you sent me gifs of a troubleshooting guide that requires the use of a Tech II scan tool of which you know I don't have and then have asked me to accept the resolution. There are references to specific test points but no diagram showing which is what (example step 6)
