The check engine light was on so i disconnected the battery

the check engine light was on so i disconnected the battery to try to get it reset and now the car wont start I think it is now something to do with alarm system
JA: Does the light stay on, or does it blink?
Customer: it was just solid on
JA: What is the model/year of your Chevy?
Customer: 2004 chevy avalanche
JA: Are you fixing your Avalanche yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: now it is a security issue with the alarm that has to be reset so the car will start. I was looking online for procedure to reset the alarm

I attached a rest procedure for you to follow to reset the security system, but this will not fix the light issue that came on. That light comes on when a fault is found and the codes needs to be read and repaired.
