My 2002 Chevy Duramax will not restart after I drove it out

Customer Question

My 2002 Chevy Duramax will not restart after I drove it out of the driveway and it suddenly died. I cranked it several times but to no avail. I then primed the fuel filter and found it was full of fuel. I checked the oil and it was at the correct level. I have not had any engine problems with this Duramax until now. Any ideas?
JA: Has the vehicle turned into a gas hog? And how does it start -- same as usual?
Customer: No, not gas, but diesel. Mileage has been great and performance has been great.
JA: What is the model of your '02 GM?
Customer: It's the Extended Cab Silverado.
JA: Are you fixing your Silverado yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I tried both my scanners and was not able to get them working. The Engine Link scanner which communicates with my iPhone via Bluetooth says it was "busy" when I tried to get the codes.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No, I think that's it for now.

No. Do you mean the pressure from the HPFP?

Got it solved this morning. Used starter fluid after priming the fuel filter.
