Hello and welcome!

My name isCustomerand I can assist you with your question.

Expert:  AMEDEE replied 1 year ago.

Are you looking for possible causes or would you like me to walk you through this diagnoses?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Possible causes would be neice
Expert:  AMEDEE replied 1 year ago.

It sounds to me like you just have a bad battery or a bad connection at or after the battery. What is the battery voltage at?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No It is like someone through a switch and turned everything off. The battery is fine less than a month old.
Expert:  AMEDEE replied 1 year ago.

Ok, good! So what is the voltage at?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
a low voltage battery would not turn off everything!
Expert:  AMEDEE replied 1 year ago.

A bad battery would. So would a bad connection. Just humor me. Check the voltage.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Can't right now I am at work won't be home until 6:00 pm. When I turned the ignition this morning all lights came on. it was only when I engaged the starter that everything went out.
Expert:  AMEDEE replied 1 year ago.

Right. Thats because there is load on the electrical system. If there is a weak point in the circuit, thats when it will show up

Expert:  AMEDEE replied 1 year ago.

If the battery is new, you could bet it replaced for free under warranty. If it checks out good, maybe the connectiona t the battery are night tight enough.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
when I get home what can I look for?
Expert:  AMEDEE replied 1 year ago.

If I am wrong, then we check power going to the junction block under the hood WHEN this happens. The battery needs to maintain above 10 volts when the key is in the CRANK position. Same thing with the voltage on the fuses under the hood.

Expert:  AMEDEE replied 1 year ago.

I can even send you a wiring diagram of the power distribution circuit to help trace down this power supply problem.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Nothing happens like I said it is like someone through a switch
Expert:  AMEDEE replied 1 year ago.

I understand.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have fgot a wiring diagram
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Is There a main fuse?
Expert:  AMEDEE replied 1 year ago.

Ok. YES, there are a few under the hood. We would need to check those as well after verifying the battery and connections are good.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have looked at the fuses under the hood in the box as well as the ones on the driver's side access panel but I don't recall any that shut everything down.
Expert:  AMEDEE replied 1 year ago.

If the main or maxi fuse blows, there would not be any power at all. From what your descibing, thats not the case.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
OK now we are getting some where. Where is that located?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I must not have explained it well because that's exactly what is happening!
Expert:  AMEDEE replied 1 year ago.

Either right off the battery or in the main fuse block under the hood.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Like I said, where is it located under the hood?
Expert:  AMEDEE replied 1 year ago.

I would need your VIN to give you the exact location

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Would it be located in-line from the battery or labeled on the main fuse block on the other side?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Thanks I'll Check it out when I get home!
Expert:  AMEDEE replied 1 year ago.

You bet! I will be looking forward to your reply!
