Vinegar smell coming from my ac. No. 2012 Chevy Silverado.

Customer Question

Vinegar smell coming from my ac.
JA: Have you checked the Freon level?
Customer: No.
JA: What is the make/model/year of your car?
Customer: 2012 Chevy Silverado.
JA: Are you fixing your Silverado yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Nothing yet. In reading, it appears this is a bacteria buildup and some have suggested spraying Lysol into the intake.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: That is it. Thanks!

Would you say the smell is more predominate at start up and/or when the weather is more hot/humid?
