I turn the key two or three times and nothing happens.
JA: Is the car in "Park" or "Neutral?" Do you know if your car has a "wheel lock" feature?
Customer: Park. not wheel locked. Sometimes if I hold the key engaged, it will finally start.
JA: What is the model/year of your Chevy?
Customer: 2002 Chevy Silverado
JA: Are you fixing your Silverado yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: i haven't tried anything yet
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

1- Check battery volts for 12 volts .

2- Check for 14 volts at battery when running ,with all load on, ac ,headlight , flasher ,etc... check charging

3- Have you checked the starter relay

4- Check the battery cables going to starter ,for corrosion or loose

5- The ignition switch itself in the column could be the issue if all above are good
