I need to rethread spark plug hole. It's not out, but plug

Customer Question

I need to rethread spark plug hole. It's not blown out, but plug is not going on smoothly. What size tap do I need for 2002 Tahoe 5.3l 2wd?
JA: When it comes to this particular vehicle, have flat tires been a problem in the past?
Customer: Does this relate?
JA: What is the model of your '02 Chevy?
Customer: Tahoe lt
5.3l. Gas
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes will try it myself
Have not done anything yet
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Tried to put in new plug but it wasn't going in right. So I looked it with mirror and saw it had filings on the threads. I could turn new plug maybe one turn before it got too tight.

Hello I will help,

14x1.25mm is the thread size. A tip is to grease some cotton rope and put it down the hole with the piston all the way up then when you are done with the tap pull the rope out and the majority og the cuttings come with the rope.

Let me know how I can help

Thank you
