is the adapter just below the line for the purge solenoid.
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 1 year ago.

Ok. THanks I'll take a look.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
There's a hose that goes from that to the throttle bottle input
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Throttle body not throttle bottle
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 1 year ago.

Yeah. That is just a fitting for the vent hose on the valve cover. That item that is broken is part of the valve cover.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
to fix it I have to replace the whole valve cover? or is it an insert that just pop in?
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 1 year ago.

I have not ever tried to replace that seperately. I have had the valve covers off a bunch of times. You should call the dealer and find out if the nipple on the valve cover is replaced seperate from the cover.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
You don't have the parts diagram available?
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 1 year ago.

No. GM supplies technicians access to all the service info, but parts info is supplied to the parts department only.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
ok I just went for broke, and it pops off and is replaceable. Now to see who has that part.
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 1 year ago.

I would be willing to bet that is a dealer only item.

Expert:  EricFromCT replied 1 year ago.

Also, just because it pops off, does not mean it comes seperatly. Just for a heads up...

Expert:  EricFromCT replied 1 year ago.

Have you been able to find the nipple yet?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No looks like you can get from Napa online or a couple other places but nothing in stock locally. Will try the Chevy dealer in the am.
Or will look at one of the local junk yards. It's listed as a PCV valve but in reality it doesn't have the same functionality.
Thanks

Thats good that it can be gotten seperately. It is more or less just for a hose. It does not have the pcv valve in it. I a fairly certain you will need to remove the intake manifold to remove the valve cover. So depending on your mileage you may want to get upper intake gaskets as well.
