I have a 1997 Chevy Silverado 5.7 350 Vortec.I'm getting crank but no start. I put a new crank shaft sensor on it, new spark plug and spark plug wires and a new ignition solenoid on her today. Tried to starter after putting all these new parts today and a flame shot out the carburetor. I check the distributor and distributor cap and they seem fine. I'm stumped so far. I NEED HELPP

New alternator, starter, ground wire and (fuses under hood and inside the cab) I'm stumped out of my mind.

Hello and welcome! My name isCustomerand I can assist you with your question. Have you checked the fuel pressure? Maybe you have a bad fuel pump. This is very common on this vehicle. Or the fuel pump may not even be getting powered up while cranking. HOwever, if the engine has spark, it should start and run on starting fluid. Hands down. If not, then the ignition or valve timing is off (out of time). My experience on these engines is this is caused by a bad distributor cap and rotor. It might just be as simple as that
