What kind of problems will i run into if i changed the wheel

what kind of problems will i run into if i changed the wheel size from 16" to 18 " or even 20" wheels I have a 2007 chevy duramax.

There's a couple of things that will happen when changing to a larger wheel

1. Speedometer becomes off

2. Rear gear ratio is effectively changed

3. ABS/Traction control will most likely not function properly

The above can be avoided by doing what is called "plus sizing" It's where a tire is used with the new larger rim so the diameter is the same as the old rim and tire.
