Customer Question

The key won't turn in the ignition
JA: Is the car in "Park" or "Neutral?" Do you know if your car has a "wheel lock" feature?
Customer: It is in park. Not sure of lock feature. We can turn the wheel. The key just won't turn.
JA: Tell me a bit more about what's going on so he can help you best.
Customer: The ignition key won't turn
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself?
Customer: Yes
JA: Great! What have you tried so far?
Customer: Turning wheel, rocking car, everything we could think off
JA: Is there anything else the Chevy Mechanic should be aware of about your Chevy?
Customer: Its not a chip key. Cause key won't turn, shifting gears locked in park.
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Chevy Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

I see, thanks. Do you have another key that you can try?

Tried them both

I see. That is in the ignition lock cylinder, it will need to be replaced. They do that quite often, just stop turning out of the blue.

The new one gets coded to your original key and it will work as it should.

I could get the instructions for it, if you happen to need them.
