Chevrolet Corvette: I have a 1991 Chevy Corvette with 45,000

Customer Question

I have a 1991 Chevy Corvette with 45,000 miles on it. Last week the "service ride control" light came on. I would like to known what might be wrong and the approximate cost for repair I should expect before I take it into my mechanic. We do not have a Chevrolet dealership in town.

Hello. Without knowing what trouble code, I can only share my experience. Those systems are pretty solid. The most common issue is probably a actuator in a shock. If they've been disturbed, sometimes the connector can get installed "out of time". The shocks may be discontinued, but you can look at gmpartsdirect for availability and pricing. Another thing that was common, is the selective ride control switch gets turned between one the three position detents and set a switch code.
