Chevrolet Tahloe: 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ 4wd flex fuel. Random

Customer Question

2007 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ 4wd flex fuel. Random service stabilitrak light followed by stabilitrak off and traction control off message. When these messages appear the vehicle shifts from 1st to 2nd very hard. As soon as the warnings go away. It shifts fine until the lights/messages pop up again.

hi my name is ***** ***** will be helping you with this the best i can. when those lights show up and the transmissions shifts hard the vehicle is putting itself in something called "limp" mode. it is designed to help get your vehicle to the nearest service station.have you had the system scanned while the light is one to see what codes you have? parts stores will not be able to scan this system it will need to be done at a shop with a more advanced scanner. i see that you have changed your brake switch did someone direct you to do this?

It has not been scanned. Because it never lasts longer. Usually only a few minutes then it won't happen again for a week. Very random. Saw a YouTube video with similar problems. That was their remedy. Figured it was worth a shot. But didn't fix the problem.

ok i was just curious. it can be a lot of different things really. the infrequency of it definitely makes it hard to pinpoint and without any codes it is very hard to point you in any direction really. if you have air ride it could be the suspension causing this. it oculd be the wheel bearings as they are the wheel speed sensors and if you get one that has a bad reading for a bit it will set these lights. it is still worth taking to the shop sometimes the codes will remain in the system as history codes but the light will be off because it does not sense a current failure. if you have no further questions i would appreciate if you took a moment to leave me a rating.
