Hi there,

The normal way to reprime any late model diesel engine after running out of fuel or a fuel filter change, is to cycle the ignition key on for 5 seconds, off for 5 seconds, about 5 times. The tank pump should refill the rest of the system, and then the engine should start.

Be aware that high pressure pumps can be damaged from running out of fuel.

Hope this helps.

Is there a bleeder valve that can be opened so that the booster pump will push it up to the main pump

More than likely not.

Have you tried the procedure above?

Works on every late model diesel I've had.

The in-tank pump is high pressure input about 50 psi or so and will bleed the whole system past the injectors, but low in comparson to the high pressure pump on the engine at 3000 psi.
