How do I get the torque converter to move towards the flex

Customer Question

How do I get the torque converter to move towards the flex plate so o can bolt them together? The vehicle is a 2004 s10. As it is now my bolts are not long enough.

Hello I will help you with your question,

Do you have another bolt that is longer you can thread in a couple of turns and pull the converter to the flex plate or get a screwdriver behind it to pull it forward?

The converter should turn and pull out a little to get up to the plate.

Please let me know how I can help

Thank you

I tried a pry bar to pull it forward a little bit but there is no room to get behind it without having an inspection cover to remove. I tried a longer bolt but still could not get it to pull forward. Im pretty certain that everything is installed correctly to this point. The converter rotates freely by hand with no binding.

Did you try the knob on the converter in the recess in the crank to be sure they fit?

Is this the original converter to the engine?
