Hi there, I am Cam. With your vehicle, have you done any work recently? Have you checked any of the fluids recently? To have this sort of issue happening suggests that you have a low coolant level that is intermittently sending coolant through the heater core. This could be because of the buildup of pressure. When the pressure builds up as in the engine is overheating, the heater output will stop. On your particular engine, they are very common for leaking intake gaskets which would lower the level. To begin with, can you check your coolant level?
