Rebuilt the 2.2 in my 96 s10. put the fresh motor in and it

Customer Question

rebuilt the 2.2 in my 96 s10. put the fresh motor in and it idles rough. kinda chugs. but runs perfect on the highway or when accelorating. I couldnt find any vacuum leaks but when I pulled the brake booster line off the idle smoothed out. this means its idling rich. I checked the fuel pressure. its normal with key on but when I start it it jumps up to 50 psi. not good. should drop a few psi. so I replaced the regulator and it improved slightly but still not right.

hi there,

Im cam .

quick question, Is the map sensor hooked up receiving manifold vacuum? It sounds like the map is at full voltage.

running psi on fuel should be 31 to 44. rising to 47-50 on throttle snap.

Its a little high but it shouldnt be that drastic rich.
