My 94 Chevy keeps losing power on acceleration and won't shift into overdrive. One day it's drives great next day it can't even spin the tires in my gravel driveway.

If you are sure you have proper fuel pressure and there are no exhaust restrictions then the next steps would be to scan the computer system and see if there are any fault codes setting. Post back with the results and we can work from there.

The code 81 can be set due to any of the following,

  • Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
  • Shift Solenoid
  • Wiring
