I am sorry for the long wait

when cranking it over is there fuel at the injectors ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
don't think so
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Does the injector pumps go bad a lot---The truck has been sitting a long time
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

these had pump issues yes

how long has it been sitting ?

if you remove the fuel line off into the injection pump when cranking it over does fuel come out of the line ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
have not done yet --am taking cover off now
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

ok let me know

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Loosened line at injector , cranked eng. NO FUEL
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

ok tighten that line up and remove the fuel line into the injection pump when cranking it over do you have fuel out of that line ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the filter has fuel and primary pump is working
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

ok see if there is fuel at the injection pump from the fuel feed line when cranking it over

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
will take couple min. , its mounted on frame above filter
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

no

the fuel loine that connects to the injection pump the fuel feed line at the injection pump

pop off that line and see if there is fuel out of that line at the injection pump when cranking it over

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
is the inj pump mounted on the driver side top of head ?
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

no it is mounted under the upper intake behind the oil fill tube

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Checking
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

this is the pump looking from the back side of it

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Cant find it --this is a van
or do I need to remove more
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

should be the front of the injection pump accessible behind the oil fill tube area with a rubber fuel line on the passenger side front corner of the injection pump

seen and reached from the front of the engine

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
is it belt driven
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

no it bolts to the back top of the timing cover and is run off the timing gear

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Openened shrader at line and have fuel with key on
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

ok if there is fuel into the pump and NO fuel at the injectors and all the fuses are good and with the key ON the check engine light IS lit up in the dash then the odds are the injection pump is bad

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Could it be anything else -- It did start for a few sec's and that pump they want $950 for a complete pump
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

we have seen crank sensors but you would need to connect a scan tool to the truck and see if there are any codes and see if when cranking it over if you have an RPM signal when cranking it over

if NO crank sensor codes and you can view data and can see a crank RPM then the only thing left is the pump

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I put my analyzer on it , it had a code that said timing
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

closure time code ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No it looked like it was reading timing on a gas eng
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I will try it again
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

tell me the code numbers

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it says no codes now
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

if no codes and no fuses are blown and the check engine light is lit up in the dash with the key ON the only thing left is the injection pump

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
