I have a 2013 Chevy Malibu 2.5. I'm getting P0013 and P0014 codes. I ordered the Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve part numbers 12655421 & 12655421 OEM GM parts. I really need to know where they are located I cant seem to find a manual maybe not available yet? Thanks.
Chevy Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 2 years ago

Ok, give me a few minutes to upload diagrams. Sorry about delay. Thanks.

Camshaft Position Actuator Exhaust Solenoid Valve is the common failure for these codes. I'm still gathering repair information for you.

I ordered both the intake and exhaust P# ***** & 12655420. Do these sound like they are the correct part #'s? Also I looked at the diagrams, so is there another diagram that shows where the sensors are when the cover is off? I see the sections where each are but was wondering if there is a detailed picture showing the intake and exhaust sensors I.E. intake on left and an arrow pointing to it, something like that. Make sense?

I was prepping and tried removing the electrical connector from the exhaust solenoid and it looks like a piece of the connector fell out! There is a white plastic sliding piece that you move so I figured that was a unlocking device. Nope, I can live with clamping it back on I guess but I don't want to break the other one. Any tips on how to remove those connectors without breaking them?
Chevy Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 2 years ago

With a small screwdriver you can pry up on tab while tugging on connector until it releases. Let me know how it turns out, thanks.

the parts came in. They are shorter than the parts installed. Not sure if you can verify but it would be much appreciated. 12655421 and 12655420.
Customer reply replied 2 years ago
I just want to verify the part locations here is a picture the pencils point to the locations. Also here is the vin#1G11A5SA1DF243042 this is how I verified the part with amazon. Something just doesn't seem right and the connector doesn't seem right either.
Customer reply replied 2 years ago
The pic won't attach. Perfect.
Chevy Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 2 years ago

I do not have the part numbers available but if you call up your local dealership part numbers they should be able to verify the parts for you. Let me know how it goes or if you have more questions. Thanks.
