are you looking to fix this yourself ?

or a good idea before it goes into the shop ?

Ok sounds good

the problem will be the drivers side temp actuator failing which is very common on these trucks causing this issue

pick up a new drivers side temp actuator then under the bottom of the heater box in the area of the drive shaft hump area of the floor right under the heater box is the drivers side temp actuator # ***** in this picture

key OFF unplug it and remove the 2 screws holding it in and swap out the new one and plug it in should correct this issue
