Customer Question

Hello, My boyfriend bought a 2001 Monte Carlo from our next door neighbor. The problem is we cant get the electric drivers seat to move back. It seems to be locked up for some reason on the left side. We took the seat out completely and found that the seat moves back and forth easily when moving the gears one side at a time manually, so it does not appear o be something on the left track preventing it from moving. Any ideas would help?

My name is ***** ***** I am a professional here at Just Answer. I noticed that your question was not getting a response and thought I would see if you still need help with this.I apologize for the delay and I hope I can still assist you with this here.
Since this isn't a track issue this sounds like a fault with the seat forward/back motor or the cables/gears the motor turns. If when you remove the motor the seat and gears/cables move freely to adjust this indicates the motor needs replaced. If it still binds up this can indicate the track itself needs replaced.
Thanks Pete
