Chevrolet Suburban K2500 4x4: Have a 2003 K2500 Suburban with

Customer Question

Have a 2003 K2500 Suburban with the Vortec fuel injected. It will start, but runs very rough and dies when given gas. I changed the fuel filter and seemed very plugged, but does not run any better. Just seems like not getting gas. Someone said it could be th fuel pump, but it is starting. The battery has died during this as well. Any thoughts?

The check engine light never came on. Would there be a code? It is the 6.0 liter. I don't have access to a fuel pressure gauge.

there maybe a code in the history of the computerbut with what your describing this truck either has a dirty or bad MAF sensor or the fuel pump is weak and not putting out the correct PSIyou need to connect a fuel pressure gauge to the test port on the fuel rail and see if the pressure is 55 -62 psi key ON engine OFFif its below that spec the fuel pump will need to be changed i am sorry to sayfuel pumps are the # ***** failure to cause this issue
