We are replacing the rear axle bearings and axles on our 2007

we are replacing the rear axle bearings and axles on our 2007 chevy trailblazer. The new axles will only go in to within about an inch of going completely in then they stop whats wrong?

they go in until the splines meet the spider gears and will not go all the way through the spider gear inner splines ?

Yes both axles are new

the splines are the same as the old axles ?will the axle start to slide into the spider gears ?

how far will it go into the spider gears ? will it go through the spider gear all the way ?

No about 1/2 half the way

and you checked the bearings and made sure the axles fit the bearing all the way down the shaft ?the axles are the correct length ?if yes to both questions i asked the odds are the new axle splines have sharper edges on them can you scuff down the axle spline ends with a clean scratchpad and see if they will go all the way through the spiders enough to get the C-clip on the axle ends ?
