What would cause Chevy 2000 Suburban to fluctuate at ide and stall at take offs at green lights. 5.3 litre engine.Thanks for any help.

Normally this is caused by either a sticking or dirty idle air control valve and/or a dirty throttle body. Both are easy to clean and if you need to replace the idle air control it is pretty cheap. Often you can clean the IAC and it will work for a while, if you have someone do the service just have it replaced so you don't have to pay labor twice.
