Customer Question

Was running fine, died at the worst intersection in the city, No mechanical issues, new bat., and starter this winter, checked both for grounding issues, none, checked computer, clean and no corrosion. Truck will start but runs for 5 seconds and dies. Checked all under hood connections, any ideas?

hello, sorry to hear you are having this issue, i know how frustrating it can be when a vehicle dies at the most inopportune time, so lets see what we can figure out. when it does start and run, does it run good or no?

also how many miles are on your truck? and have you had any recent work done?

there is a fuel pump control module that is prone to corrosion and wiring issues located just above the spare tire. so check for fuel pressure and see if you have 40psi or better than the pump is good, its also possible the level sensor has failed and you are out of gas, or if you have gotten gas recently you may have bad gas. i receive emails when you respond so i will reply it just may not be right away but i will respond. here is a link for the fuel pump control module, its always good to check the pins for corrosion . oh and one last thing, is the security light or a check engine light on the dash when the truck does start and run?
