2004 Malibu do's not turn over there is car with a lock throw it lit up when you try to start it

will the engine physically crank over but just not fire up ?

so it will not physically crank over at all ? did this problem happen out of the blue one day ?

my son broke the key off in the door lock and it started after that

I have another key and yes the broken key is still in the lock

since this happened right after that key was broken off the first thing that has to be done is that door lock needs to be removed and replaced or removed and taken apart and the old broken key removedmore than likely what is wrong is the theft system is activated for the BCM with the broken key and possibly the key you are using now into the ignition lock is not learned correctly for it to workwith the blinking car with the lock being displayed that is what the problem is
