I can tell you right off the bat, these cars have a problems with the turn signal switch, they run the brake circuit through the switch, and they go bad leaving you with no brake lights or only one side. I will send you a wire diagram, do you know if you have power at the socket?graphic

does the turn signal switch effect the wipers also

No, the wiper switch is separate from the turn signal switch, it just shares the same lever.
