Welcome to just I'm here to help you and your 100% satisfaction is my goal.If this is actually known as the vehicle communication interface module and is located behind the center of the front dash, Bake sure you check all of your fuses to be sure none of them are blown , using a scan tool checked to see that there's no trouble code showing anywhere in any of the modules . Let me know what you find and we will continue testing further give me a little more detail or as much detail as you can . I will be with you as long as it takes to solve your problem just reply back to me right here thank you very much it's a pleasure working with you

The car is out now with the wife doing some shopping. I have checked all the fuses and none are blown. Also, my scan tool isn't showing any codes. The vehicle was a demonstrator with every option. Including the hiding running boards that in this area will likely end up being another problem some day.

If I understand part of your answer, the electronics are in a separate module behind the center of the dash, behind the LCD display?

Yes or completely separate unit there may be a problem with the programming or possibly since it was a demonstrator they may have deactivated and you may have to reactivate it or reassign it to reactivate it to yourself it may involve reprogramming using the factory scan tool what kind of problem are you having with the OnStar exactly
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
The problem is really basic, it isn't operating at all, for making calls, getting help, or even reaching OnStar. It has been working since I purchased the vehicle back in August 2009. OnStar has had a lot of use and with a trip coming up in 2 weeks I would like to have it operational. I am suspecting from what you are saying that this may be a problem the dealer service needs to work?

Well the main thing we want to make sure is that you have no blown fuses and no trouble codes being stored in the system those are two main things
Would suggest either we will pull the module and start checking powers and grounds or you may want to have the dealer try reprogramming it or re-flashing the memory to start with
