Welcome,

No, there is not any type of reset used on this vehicle. Given the history on all the common failures like this most likely it will need a new pump if you can't even hear it run with the key on. The way the system is designed is that the pump will get power to it for about 2 seconds with the key just in the on position, and then gets power all the time when the key is in the starting position and the starter is cranking the engine.

What you would need to do is check for power to the fuel pump at the gray wire going into the top of the gas tank where it goes into the fuel pump assembly. If it has power there then the pump has failed and will need to be replaced.

Sometimes if you were to take either a rubber mallet, or a regular hammer with a small piece of wood to place between the tank and smack it with the hammer/mallet when someone is trying to start it, it will jar the pump into action and start. BUT, the pump should still be replaced because it will sure happen again.

Hi, and thanks for the accept.

Yup, they sure do. We have replaced probably well over 100 of these pumps. They use the same type on many of the GM lines and is extremely common. Once the car hits around 100K miles is when they usually go out and is pretty much the life expectancy of them.
