Chevrolet Cobalt how to release hub to get to rear brakes

how to release hub to get to rear brakes on 2008 cobalt
Greetings and welcome to just answer!!!!!

Are you just trying to replace the rear brake shoes? Are you just trying to get the drum off?

possibly if there bad need to check them and replace a lug
I see. So the drum is stuck on. You will have to pull the plug, #4 in the picture, on the back of the drum to get to the adjuster and move the adjuster to loosen the brake shoes. The brake shoes causes a lip to get on the edge of the brake drum and it will not release.

so is there any certain way i need to do that or just slide a common head screwdriver in there and feel for it
It is going to be very hard for you to get it adjusted. You may even have to try to pop the springs off.

so whats the best tool to use to so this in ur opining
Long flat head , but needs to be strong not flexing. Maybe a brake adjusting tool, that is strong.
