I'm Neal and I am here to assist you. Only accept when you are happy with my assistance. If I can't help I will open your Question to other experts.

When you say a loss of power do you mean the engine or the electrical?

Does it start right back up?

Customer: replied 6 years ago.

Both, all out blackout, steering locked. all black dash. Kids were in vehicle.

DId it restart afterwards?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.

No restart. However, it did jump right off a jumpbox. At first i thought it was a draw. No such luck. Its my belief primary power is being interupted by either a loss of relay or unintensional ground.

maybe. i could be wrong.

A couple basic things first. Are you sure it is charging? Did you replace the battery?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.

Battery was replaced while i was in Iraq. Charging at 14.23 volts. Good numbers charging.

Are then any codes stored?

Has it done this more than once?

Has it done it since the ignition was swapped?

Customer: replied 6 years ago.

Yes , it had a code for an ignition swith failure. Yes it has done it more then once.. Before and after replacement of switch..

Expert:  Neal replied 6 years ago.
Did you replace the lock cylinder or the ignition switch?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.

Switch. Lock is fine.

Customer: replied 6 years ago.

Im beginning to think that battery is jacked but. im going to retrieve the vehicle today and throw everthing i have at it. It is something stupid. i know it in my heart.

Expert:  Neal replied 6 years ago.

A battery with an intermittant internal short will cause issues like that. And will test good when not shorting so I would try another battery to rule it out.

Another possibility is that if you had a false code for the ignition switch, it could be the computer has a fault.
