Do you have a 1500, 2500, or 3500? Rear drum or disc? Do you know if you have a full floating rear diff or not?

THat would only apply if you had a 2500 or 3500 and a heavy duty rear differential.

If it is a 1500 and has rear drum it is very straight forward. Remove the rear wheels, there may be two clips on two of the rear studs that need to be cut or pryed off (they were there for assembly and don't need to go back on). and then remove the drums. You may need to tap on it with a hammer to loosen it if there is some minor corrosion or rust on the center.
