Often this problem can be caused by a faulty crankshaft position sensor or it just needs to be relearned Disconnect battery cables and short them together for a few minutes to reboot the Electronic Control Module memory. Reconnect the cables and perform the Crankshaft Position relearn using a scan tool, this can also possibly be a timing problem or a faulty ECM

How do I perform the crankshaft position relearn

What is a ECM?
The relearn must be done using a scan tool, the ECM is short for engine control module or computer
