2003 chevy cavalier: clicking noise coming..dash board..It only comes

This answer was rated:

I have a 2003 chevy cavalier. Recently there has been a clicking noise coming from the dash board. It only comes on when the vehicle is on.

Hello and thank you for using JustAnswer. My name is XXXXX XXXXX I will do my best to help you with your Chevy problem.

Does the clicking noise seem to come from the passenger side of the dash?

Customer: replied 6 years ago.
yes it does

The problem is going to be a stripped electric actuator for the a/c inlet door. This actuator controls positioning of the door for fresh air or recirculate mode. The plastic gears within the actuator strip, causing the clicking sound. The dash must come out to replace the actuator. If you just want to stop the clicking noise, you could disconnect the wiring to the actuator.
