If "both" Front Speakers do not work, typically it is the Speakers, but you need to Remove the Door Panel & test with Meter or another "known" good speaker
Usually the Speakers get damp & the cone splits, then the Speaker stops, because the voice coil is stuck.
If after testing the speakers are not working, then you will need to see if the Unit has outboard AMP

Depending on Trim, the Door Panel is pretty easy to remove, just be sure when you get all screws out, you "lift" up on the Door Panel to remove

here is Chevrolet procedure for Trim YE9:

Testing needs to be done when the problem occurs, but this model has had problems with the Harness at the AMP (if equipped) & the AMP

The AMP is located under the Console

Testing of the Unit, AMP (if equipped) & Speakers can be done quicker, via Dealer Scan Tool & usually it would be appx 1 hour labor, unless they have to replace a component

I would want to confirm Speaker soundness & be sure either has not been wet.
Typically indicated by whiteish deposits on the rear / magnet of the Speaker/s
