Hello I will be helping you with your equinox. Are you replacing your lock cylinder in the steering column?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.

yes i am

Okay, remove the cover that surrounds the column. 3 screws from underneath.

Remove the park lock cable under the cylinder by moving the tabs over that holds it on.

Place the key in the cylinder turn it to accessory position.

Place a small pick like tool into the hole to release the cylinder. The access hole is on the side of the housing . You may have to turn the key a small amount to feel the release on the cylinder. You will need to pull the tool out to remve the cylinder. A small allen wrench can be used to depress the tab. Any questions feel free to ask. Sorry unable to post a picture the site wont allow at this time. I will keep trying

  1. Insert key into the ignition and rotate to the RUN position. Then rotate ignition cylinder back to ACC position.
