Have a 1997 chev. blazer s-10 4x4. No crank/no start.

Customer Question

have a 1997 chev. blazer s-10 4x4. No crank/no start. Shop said that the ign. switch was burnt out. Replaced ignition switch and still no crank/no start. Jumped starter solenoid to get vehicle running. There is no power at the drivers side fuse panel for the crank circuit????

hi ,if you are not getting battery voltage to the fuse(crank),this signal comes from the ignition switch ,now you have to check the inputs and out puts to the switch .here is a diagram of the pin-out for your vehicle ,just check the hots and grounds for the start and run wires,if you are not getting signal to the fuse ,then this signal will not go to the neutral safety switch and then on to the purple wire at the starter(small wire)you can check this wire while trying to crank the motor over for battery voltage ,check for voltage while in the crank position at the yellow wire at the ignition switch there should be voltage coming out of that wire ,this goes to the crank fuse,if there is no voltage then you will need to check the voltages at the switch using the diagrams I have supplied, if there is voltage at the yellow wire then there may be a break in the wire between the switch and the fuse,it might be a good idea to check all the fuses in the dash as well as the fuses under the hood ,just to be sure that they are all good(good idea);;;;guy...
