Hello, and welcome to!

The first thing you want to check is if the brake lights are working. Have someone depress the brake pedal while you look to see if the brake lights at the rear of the vehicle come on (with the key in the ON position).

If not, then you could have a blown 15Amp STOP fuse, or the brake light switch mounted at the top of the brake pedal could be bad (or come off).

If the fuse is good then you need to unplug the brake light switch and short the two wires (green and green/white) together and see if the brake lights come on then. If so then see if the shifter button will push in and if so then replace the brake light switch.

If the brake lights DO work, but the shifter button still won't press in, then disassembly and electrical testing will be required to determine if it is a wiring problem, a bad shift interlock relay, or a bad shift interlock solenoid.
