Head gaskets and cracked heads are very common on this engine and if the air was bled out properly after the repairs you had done the head gaskets or cracked heads are the most likely cause of your problem.

the head s and gaskets were repaired. how do you bleedout the air
Chevy Mechanic: ZZDaryl, Chevy Technician replied 8 years ago
There are usually air bleeds above the water pump and on the thermostat housing, you just open the bleeders and the air will come out, on some models the bleeder on the thermostat is just a tube to the fill jug and that does not need to be bled out. I usually bleed them after the engine is warm and when you open the bleeder the air will just come out. If this does not help you need to be sure the cooling fans are working properly.
