1996 chevy cavalier: you add transmission fluid..dipstick..plastic

This answer was rated:

How do you add transmission fluid to a 1996 chevy cavalier that has no dipstick tube? There is a plastic plug of some sort with a breather tube coming out of it. If changing the transmission filter, how much tranny fluid will need to be added again?

hi

change the filter..remove the plug and add 6.9 quarts

thanks

Thank you for the fluid capacity but does the plug with the breather tube on top of the transaxle just screw out counterclockwise or does it pull straight out. It seems to be very tight and I am concerned it will break as it is plastic. Do you recommend a way to remove it?

hi

the plug just pops out

thanks
