1997 Chevy S10 4x4: automatic pickup Problem: The gear shifter (

Customer Question

Vehicle info: 1997 Chevy S10 4x4 3-door automatic pickup

Problem: The gear shifter (on floor) is locked in PARK. Are there electrical schlamatics for this? Do the electrical wiring connected to the shifter, control the movement of the shifter?

There is a solenoid at the shifter that locks the shifter. The solenoid unlocks the shifter when the key is on and the brake pedal is depressed.

Here is the schematic. Let me know if you need additional information.
