Unleaded..gasoline in a flex fuel car does your mileage increase

if you use regular unleaded gasoline in a flex fuel car does your mileage increase to the gasoline epa figures for a non flex fuel car?

No they will not increase to the mileage of a non flex fuel car. Your flex fuel car has bigger injectors and different software to accommodate running e85 fuel. The Ethanol in e85 fuel requires larger amounts of fuel to produce the same from combustion as regular gas. The idea of using e85 fuel is that it is cheaper than regular gas, the problem is that it takes more fuel to do the same amount of work causing lower miles per gallon. Flex fuel cars cannot be changed over to regular fuel or programmed just for regular fuel either.
