1997 Lumina: instrument lights..dash..dimmer switch..smelled

Resolved Question:

1997 Lumina instrument lights only on dash not working. The dimmer switch still works, but only for the radio lights. Last week, we smelled somthing burning. Not sure if its related. Any ideas?

There are a couple of different outputs from the dimmer switch. Remove the dimmer switch and test this output with a test light or voltmeter while dimming the switch up and down. Gray wire is for the instrument panel lighting.
