There is a fusible link in the charging system, you need to check at the back of the alternator at the large black wire to see if you have 12 volts. If you do not have 12 volts, then the fuseible link is bad.

Is this the black cable from (positive post of battery) ? and do I test without car running car ? Where is fusible link located ?

Expert:  Michael Moore replied 7 years ago.

This cable comes from the starter then to the battery. Its located inline with this cable, the cable must be replaced to repair this. You can check it with the car on or off.
